San Roque is a very desirable area of Santa Barbara. I find that many families are drawn to San Roque, and that main drawing factor is the elementary school – Peabody Charter School. Considered one of the most sought after schools in Santa Barbara County, Peabody brings a lot of families to San Roque. Not to mention, San Roque is just a cute/quaint “storybook” neighborhood. You’ll find clusters of some of older architectural style homes (Tudor style, Spanish Cottages, Country Farmhouse) peppered throughout. And up in the Foothills you’ll find some larger ranch properties with sweeping views of Santa Barbara’s coast. Many Santa Barbara residents make special trips into San Roque to get their groceries from Gealsons and/or Whole Foods. And the newly renovated La Cumbre Mall hosts a Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Yves Delorme, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffanys. While San Roque is an ideal place to raise a family, it is also the top choice for anyone looking for charm, convenience, and character.
