The Mesa

Mesa is aptly named. The Spanish translation is table top, and when you drive through the Mesa, you really see how it is situated like a table top in Santa Barbara . The Mesa has a youthful energy and younger demographic.. What I love about the Mesa is how conveniently located it is to everything. There is a shopping center with Lazy Acres (Santa Barbara’s version of Whole Foods), and other restaurants and eateries; the ocean and Shoreline Park is walking distance, or just a short drive or beach cruise away; and downtown Santa Barbara is just down Carrillo Hill a few minutes from the Mesa. It’s really easy to live an active lifestyle on the Mesa. Open water swims, races, beach boot camps and yoga at Shoreline Park are regular activities on the Mesa. And one of the Mesa elementary schools, Washington School, is known for its incredible GATE program. These homes and streets may have a more beachy feel to them, and almost all of your neighbors surf on the Mesa.
